Another year has passed, another year older. I'm now 21. I can now legally order alcohol whenever I want. I always thought it would be much more exciting than this, but oh well. Another hurdle of adulthood has been overcome. My birthday was alright, I finally got to order my Margarita at the Outback and wolfed down a 20oz steak to go along with it. And a trip to the Lion's Den for a few more "firsts" including a spirited reading of "letters" by Unkie Sean. Obviously, I'm still at Denison, still plugging away at my classes and itching to get out and do something, something new and different, something that grabs a hold of my attention and makes me really want to get involved with it. Life has been fast paced for the last few weeks. My grandfather is currently in the hospital after undergoing double bypass surgery recently. Most of the family is down there rooting him on to recovery. Dad stopped by and visited for half an hour today. I felt robbed of quality time as we weren't able to have more time to just sit and chat as he had a plane to catch to go be with the family in Florida again. I never realized that there would be a day that I truly missed my parents. After all the years of having them so close, college is taking its toll on my contact with them. They're over 400 miles away now, and it's so hard to find time for either of us to get together. I'm constantly reminded of the Cats in the Cradle. Hopefully things will be better when life settles down, and when college comes to a close. One of my philosophies on life comes again, "We'll see.."
