Last night Bull and I went shopping for Halloween decorations and whatnot, and we ended up at the computer store. I sat there and debated over whether I should get a new power supply for my multimedia computer or whether I should get a hard drive cooler to help cool the incredibly hot 160gig drive, in hopes that it doesn't fail again. I got the hard drive cooler, brought it home, hooked it all up, and then five minutes later the computer shuts down. The power supply died. Fan not moving == no air flow == overheating == unhappy computer. Luckily I know it's the power supply and not something more serious since I was able to boot fine with one of Bull's extras, but that means I get to go buy a new power supply, probably the most unexciting computer purchase there is.
This really tweaks me. Wake up corporate America, the revolution is being downloaded.. hehe Anti file sharing taught in public schools. You idiots could make a fortune off of downloading music and movies. Do we have to force you to realize the market like we had to with the VCR?
So I missed the whole month of September when it comes to updating my blog. Luckily I got in a post for October here before it ended. Life is good, we've moved into our new townhouse. Sooo much more room. My cat, Gabby, came up and now lives with us. We also found a kitten out by the dumpster of our old apartment and adopted it, thinking we'd get it checked up and give it away, but it was too damn cute, so now we have a 3rd cat. We ended up naming it Bunki, which means fork() or to jump in Japanese. She's a little bit crazy, but most kittens are.
The other weekend, Britni's family (mom, dad, and the three brothers) came down and helped us bust out some serious painting. The apartment is starting to look really good. The only things left now are staining the stairs, getting the linoleum in the kitchen replaced, and getting the basement, bedroom, and 2nd bedroom painted. Not much, eh? Oh yeah, add clean everything up and start unpacking to all that. We still have an entire half of the basement with nothing but boxes. :P
I also went out and splurged on a new digital camera. After getting my insurance check, a bonus at work, and paid for some webpage/database work, I decided it was only right that I spend some of that money. I wouldn't be comfortable having it all in the bank. :) I got me a Canon Powershot A80. It rocks. Go check the Pictures section for some of the first pics and video. Lots of cat pictures as they were the most willing subjects.
Halloween is steadily approaching. On the 31st, I'm doing the Hiptop Halloween Hunt with some people. Trying to get a team together that will include my many friends in other states that have HipTops. Then on Nov 1st, we're throwing a Halloween party with Bull. Both apartments, lots of people from work, lots of fun. Yaay, anyone in Columbus reading this, drop me an email/IM and I'll tell you where our new place is.
Also in the Ed News, this weekend was Homecoming at Denison, and the 50 year anniversary of WDUB. I didn't make it. Most of the people I knew I wanted to see are now out of the state, so they weren't going to be there. But now that I think about things, I wonder who did show up.
I realized something interesting the other day. All of my recent electronic gadgets have started to take ont he same color. They're all grey. My Sony Clie, Hiptop, Digital Camera #1, Digital Camera #2, DVD player, DVD-Burner, and my newest computer case are all similar shades of grey. And I thought my favorite color was blue! hehe
