Spent some time at NIMBY this afternoon with Heather, Nicole, and Ian making the wick for my fire rope dart. It turned out pretty good for my first wick, a little off center, but Nicole assured me it would still hold fuel and catch on fire.

Smell is one of those senses I don’t pay nearly enough attention to. Sight, sound, and touch are my top three senses, taste comes in at third and smell is usually only noticed in extreme circumstances. Last night and this morning I caught myself noticing the faint whispers of a scent around my apartment that had become familiar and pleasing to me. It’s weird how people can have a certain smell to them, and that smell eventually comes to have meaning to you. It’s nice to catch that little reminder here and there that yes, they were there in that space at one point, and kindle the hope that they will soon be in that space again.

What a wonderful week (and a few days). Life continues to be on the up and up.

I’ve gone and joined a pool on flickr called 365 Days. Basically take a photo of yourself once a day for a year. Here are my first 3 days, and I’ll try to remember to cross-post here when I upload the photo everyday.
