With all the work I’ve done on my carputer over the years, it’s nice to see that some companies are going to start delivering the things I’m too lazy to implement myself. I’ve thought for a long time about integrating Google maps into my carputer, but without an internet connection (or a way to cache massive amounts of data), it’s virtually useless. A roll-your-own internet connection isn’t the cheapest solution for the occasionaly need for web access, but would be a nice perk. The only thing I don’t like about the screenshots is the bird’s eye view. I hate that view of flat maps. with the google buildings superimposed, it’s cooler, but not nearly as useful. I prefer a straight down view on my maps.
