I’m looking for a word..

So I’m trying to describe how I feel to a friend and I find myself unable to come up with a word to truly describe the feeling.  Let’s see if anyone else can come up with one.  The feeling is happiness and joy for something happening for someone else, while at the same time wanting the same thing.  For example, your older brother graduating college.  You’re happy for him, and at the same time you can’t wait for the day that you get to graduate college.  The first word that comes to mind is jealous or envious, but both of those contain such negative connotations.  (from dictionary.com)
jeal·ous   Audio pronunciation of ( P )  Pronunciation Key  (jls)

  1. Fearful or wary of being supplanted; apprehensive of losing affection or position.
    1. Resentful or bitter in rivalry; envious: jealous of the success of others.
    2. Inclined to suspect rivalry.
  2. Having to do with or arising from feelings of envy, apprehension, or bitterness: jealous thoughts.
  3. Vigilant in guarding something: We are jealous of our good name.
  4. Intolerant of disloyalty or infidelity; autocratic: a jealous God.

en·vy   Audio pronunciation of ( P )  Pronunciation Key  (nv)
n. pl. en·vies

    1. A feeling of discontent and resentment aroused by and in conjunction with desire for the possessions or qualities of another.
    2. The object of such feeling: Their new pool made them the envy of their neighbors.
  1. Obsolete. Malevolence.

There has to be a word that expresses the elation you have for a fellow person, but also describes your desire for the same.  Or is there not a word because our society is so used to being jealous or envious of one another instead of sharing in the joy?
