Running for office

Apparently Tammy Duckworth wants to hide her phone number when sending
out annoying prerecorded messages asking for my vote. Cell phone spam
instantly gets you a “vote for someone other than Tammy Duckworth” from
me.

It sucks. In my experience with politics in Minnesota, campaigns tend to have very little respect for opt-in, cell phone politicking/spamming, email spam, junk mail, etc. It’s very common for the pre-recorded messages to come from strange numbers or unknown number. I got an unsolicited call from Keith Ellison (Running for MN-5) yesterday from 866-746-8640. If you call it back, it doesn’t tell you who the candidate was that is behind it. It pisses me off.

What also sucks, is that it’s all candidates that seem to do it in all parties. I’ve gotten shit from Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Greens… and it sucks that Tammy Duckworth, like Keith Ellison, are candidates I would support.

While I think single-issuing cell phone automated anonymous spam is actually valid, keep in mind that unfortunately everyone seems to do it. It sucks and it needs to change.

866-746-8640 may be related to an attempt to collect on an alledged bad debt that Keith Ellison / his enterprize may have bought. There are alotta “lawyers” in the bad debt buying/collecting business … some of the scummiest have made it their only business. Calls from 866-746-8640 claiming to be political in nature may well be a ruse; true purpose may be an attempt to locate an alledged dead beat debtor.

I got a call from that number yesterday, but did not answer, so I google it to see who it might be. I have no debt and have never had a credit card, so I know they werent a bill collector.
