Want to hear how our wonderful FBI is doing in the War on Terrorism? Look what they're wasting our time and money on while buildings are being blown up and people are dying, and the threat of another attack may be on the horizon. Searches by police, FBI target bandits of bandwidth Granted, these people should have had action taken against them, but action such as disconnecting their service for a breach of contract. Geez....

Well, it looks like I owe some money that the bastards are never going to see. What the hell happened to our culture, our freedoms, our expression? Copyright Office Publishes Final Webcasting Rates. Say goodbye to your favorite online stations. The RIAA continues to alienate its consumers. Isn't radio the best form of advertising music? Free to the listener? Lots of different genres and exposure to music that would never be heard on FM radio? The Big Boys with the money decide our culture once again.
Smart Robot Escapes from the Lab hehe This is apparently real, and kind of humourous. Guess someone forgot to shut him down. :)
Fittingly so, Fuzzy pasted me this link on Bush protesting when last night me, dad, and JM had a long talk over dinner about my aversion to establishment and organizations and cynicism of the system. I think I figured out my (and I hate to use such a cliche and "hip" term) anti-establishment attitudes towards several things traced back to a math professor I had in the 8th grade at Oak Hall in Gainesville, FL. Mr. Dougherty (Doherty?) taught Algebra II I believe. He was one of the first teachers who taught differently and didn't follow the generally accepted method of teaching. Instead he taught us how we would learn. Letting us sit on desks or the floor, walk around the room during class, eat in class, etc. All things that were big no-nos in middle school. It was a combination of him and the squelching of an underground newspaper that we wrote in 8th grade that I think made me choose/learn to be more cynical of big organization and cynical about government. This isn't to say that all systems are bad, I'm not saying that. I'm just recognizing my instinct to approach something with a bit of cynicism until I'm proven otherwise. There are plenty of organizations out there that are beneficial to the world. Here are two I can think of right now:
Red Cross - EFF Anyways, there's my rant. I'm hungry.

Can I just take a moment to say that I love Britni? hehe I was bored and on Fuzzy's site and came across a link he found on slashdot. It's about geeks and their significant others and the issues that this geekdom brings about. I just thought about how much love and support Britni has for me and the stupid geeky things I do. While most everyone who posted a response on Slashdot insulted and made fun of people for being too geeky, Britni just laughs and lets me do my own thing most of the time. :) "Last night she finally cracked when I installed a network point in the bathroom and told me that either the connection went or she did." Hehe, when I did that, everyone just kind of laughed and accepted it, especially Brit. Anyways, not only does she accept my geekiness, she also supports me in everything that I do, which is great. I had quite some time before I met her that I had to rely on supporting myself, so now it's nice to have someone else next to me the whole time. :) Oh, btw, check out the posted responses on that Slashdot story.
Whew, there's quite a bit of work done today on my site. Did some cleaning up, added some photos, did some PHP scripting to make stuff look better, added my poetry, added my resume (just in case :), and probably some other stuff I don't remember. Oh well, enjoy the new updates Britni and Dad, as I think you're the only ones who look at my page. (Other than Clockwerk Muse, who just comes searching for the webcam :) Alright, well I better go get something to eat other than just a bowl of cereal all day.
So I'm back in NC.. :( Already missing Britni and the Day family... Long drive back as usual. Dad and I drove seperate cars the whole way back so I didn't even have anyone to talk to. All sorts of good things and news going on, but I'm not in the mood to launch into a story trying to explain the going ons of the last two weeks spent in Wadsworth. I'll just say that they were great, and Columbus is looking better and better. I left my computer on the whole time I was gone, and had an away message up for a few days that said:
"off to see the one I love in Ohio. :) be back sometime.. :)"
Got some good responses, including:
[14:11] Henderson087: ed! you didn't tell me you where coming to visit me...i love you too
[14:11] *** Auto-response sent to Henderson087: off to see the one I love in Ohio. :) be back sometime.. :)
[11:18] denigod: oh, ed
[11:18] *** Auto-response sent to denigod: off to see the one I love in Ohio. :) be back sometime.. :)
[11:18] denigod: you didn't have to
[11:18] denigod: you are so sweet
:)
Anyways, off to catch things up to date in the technology sense as I've been without computer for two weeks. Is that a record?
Well, I sit here writing this on a 166mhz (that's with the Turbo button) on AOL hitting 31.6 bps I think. It's fine and dandy, just barely gets the job done. :) It lets me check my email every now and then when I have the patience. And it also lets me update my webpage. Anyways, I"m here in Ohio, staying with Britni and family for awhile. It's been nice, we've gone out to some bars/clubs and whatnot. I've met quite a few of her friends, new and old, and seen some of the ones I already knew. It's nice, cause back in NC, I have no friends left to hang out with. Everyone has moved off to college, or somewhere else. :( So, today I'm clocking in a week spent here at Britni's, with a week on the horizon as I wait for Dad to drive up here so he can give me some guidance and assistance on apartment matters down in Columbus. Then hopefully it will be soon afterwards that I load up the car and head up here for good. I don't have a job yet (anyone know anyone in Columbus? :) but things look promising on High Street. Me and Britni went down to check things out this past weekend. We got to see Jes, and hung out with Sean and Clint. (Damn Fuzzy for having to go home. :) Well, I'm going to leave my personal relationship type update stuff off here for now. There's quite a bit going on, but some of which I've found out doesn't belong on my webpage. or rather, not that it doesn't belong, but that it's not worth the trouble. Well, I guess I'm off to go distract myself with something until Britni gets home around 10pm. She's working at Record Exchange in Medina, which is quite a bit of a drive, but at least it's a decent job, even though noone knows how much she's making an hour.. ;) I love you Britni. :) Alright, well until next time, I'm out...
